Lighting for Soft Corals - 90g tank

Hi Everyone ,

I'm planning to start a 90g (48"Lx24"Wx18"H) soon.

Corals I'm planning to keep are ,

1) Zoanthids
2) Mushrooms
3) Xenia
4) Green Star Polyps and other beginner Corals

I have done some research and found two lights that fit my needs ,

1) VIPARSPECTRA 165W LED BOX with timer
2) Green Element Evo 3x32 W 48" LED Fixture

I plan to have two of either lights as lighting.

What is more suitable for the Corals I'm going to keep? Since Softies don't need much lighting please educate me on this.

Is it too much lighting? or too little?
If you have personal experience with these lights please share.

Thanks in Advance!

definitely not the second one it will not work. its for just a fish tank for looking at fish. if you went with the165w fixture your going to need 2 to cover the tank correctly. a 90g is pretty deep also needs higher power lighting. a 75g would be better same size just not as tall.

since this is your first time the best thing you can do is buy a t5 lighting fixture. a 4 bulb would be barley enough. for the 90g but would work on a 75g a 6 or 8 bulb would be best on a 90g also t5s are fool proof you cant mess it up. and you will get faster growth on t5.

I suggest you go to the bulk reef supply web page and watch there 52 weeks to reefing or there lighting comparisons. you can look on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Odyssea-T5-Q...XAtMjYvOGSwfor cheap t5 setup. they work just buy new bulbs for it. ati bulbs from brs,

here is a link to what t5 light did for this guy in a years time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz-XFYMeVGE

my advise is go to brs and watch there videos and reviews
