Plus figured it would let me put them at 12” for the best spread / coverage and can of course adjust the power down.

I got my new hydra 26 (non HD) setup today. Man, for the life of me I can't get a color setting I'm happy with. I've been messing with it for hours with no luck. I've been slowly working my way through this thread trying everyone's setting. Why can't I just get it to look exactly like my old Phoenix 14k
No matter what I do, it has a nasty pinkish purplish tone to it

I've been using the old AB+ for around a year with much success. What's your opinion on the latest 2018 AB + vs the old?

I think they are both equally good schedules. I have personally been using a schedule with no peaks on my tanks for the past 8 months. I added supplemental t5 lighting to my main display and removed the peaks because the t5 defeats the whole purpose behind the Respiration Peak schedule. I then moved my frag tanks to a no peak schedule for uniformity so I can easily move frags between my systems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I haven’t noticed any difference in growth/color between the two so it’s completely up to you. I would just because I enjoy the “cloud cover”, seems to reveal different things in the tank as the clouds pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hydra 26 HD Orange
What settings can bring out Orange in my Orange hammer? Right now its looking more purple than orange! My settings are UV/Violet at 80% , RYB/B at 100%, Green/RED 30% and White 50%

Try my AB+ profile, red chromatoprotiens typically fluoresce best when hit with a lot of sub 500nm wavelength light but will be washed out easily when hit with a lot of white light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

AI Hydra Settings Thread
I’m not been running a no peak version since I added t5ho supplements about 6 months ago . Right now actually I just broke down my tank as I’m moving at the end of the month and wanted to redo the plumbing. Everything is in a LPDE stock tank on my floor haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Finally got it Orcus, thank you. One question, what is the lights height above water level considered on the profiles for SPS without T5s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No problem I’m glad you were able to find it! If using a tank mount as high as you can get them and 12-16” above the waterline if hanging. If at all possible hang them because the tank mounts only get them about 10” above the water. Those extra few inches really help spread and reduce hotspotting in my experience. Unfortunately this time I am running a RSM-500 so I have the lights fixed at 8” (20cm) so it can be improved but it is compensated by having 3 HD 26. Any reason why your profiles are using 9 hours instead of 12 hours? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ah the max is a nice tank well worth the trade off of not being able to put the lights up a bit higher! The 9 hr schedule is based on the Coral Lab study by wwc and ecotech on optimal growing conditions using led lights. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
