Not sure why you went out and got a Fluval, it clearly states the max head is around 11ft on their website. .

Either way heck do I do now?

What pump is going to get the job done?

The dc18000 is the only submersible pump I am aware of that is larger than the dc10000....and I really would prefer not to depend on the jebao pump for this rig

Return both pumps and get the DC 15000 or 18000, or even look into Deepwater aquatic pumps.

All depends on how much you want to spend though, because there is better pressure rated submersibles but they are expensive.

I picked up a BLDC12, since the BLDC15 wasn't available in my area. I have around 12ft of head, I hope It will do the job.

I got the dcp18000. This pump is a BEAST. It is pumping so fast I can't even measure it lol.....it's easily pumping 1500 to 2000gph at 13ft head. That is 1.25" PVC, and it's flowing VERY heavy out This all for 130w. More than likely I can run this at 75% and still be gtg. Very impressed!

Your first mistake was that you took the word of a single member as the only truth.. And one thats heavily opinionated and biased at that...

Yeah....it was my mistake. Normally I do more research. Yes I am returning the SP6. It may be a fantastic pump, but it's worthless for my application.

Always do your due diligence and not believe everything you read on the internet. There are plenty of self proclaimed experts that give you nothing but links they googled or just make pure conjectures. And high post count does not make anyone an expert.

Thankfully it was a mistake that didnt cost me anything . Amazon is great!

On a serious note, i really do think I may buy another one of these 18000's. Its less than $200 and for that price, I can have it on hand for a spare. it was suggested to use it in conjunction with the other pump, IE two dedicated return lines. I personally think that will be a bit overkill, and I will have to turn them down to like 50%, plus i would need to run them external because there is not enough room in my return chamber of my sump for two of these beasts. They are pretty big.

For the cost though, say what you want, so long as i dont have to replace it more than once every 2 years or so, its $ very well spent.

Mine arrived as well, But I tried to hook up 1.5" PVC to the fittings it came with and their sizing is slightly bigger making the joint loose... Are your fittings snug?

I used the 1.25. that is just right. If u need 1.5 just use a conversion coupler.. the output diameter is def closer to 1.25 anyway.
