I've been using the IONNR, well, I'm on my 4th bottle. We have a heavy bio-load and I really don't have room for a BP reactor. Maybe down the line, but I feel it does the job. I got my nitrates down by half and haven't changed my routine that much. Partial don't make that much of an impact unless you go crazy and if you have a high BL the problem still exists. The polymer base supports the denitrification process which what is needed. I just bought some more on Foster's.
