Post 60 Cube Super Sized Nano lol

So I just got me Marineland 60g cube in. Over all not a bad tank but the silicone job left a little to be desidered.

I've had a guy telling me he's going to weld me a stand for 3-4 months now. The tank showing up has sped up the time table a bit so I may order from http://eztube.com. The price is right at under 200 shipped and I want to do magnetic panels anyhow. http://melevsreef.com/60g-anemone-cube got his stand from there if you want to see how it looks. I'm going to get 1/2" pvc board for the back (all the electronics will be mounted there) and top of the stand under the aquarium. The sides will be have magnet strips to connect brushed alluminum panels.

Equiptment:

X-Aqua X-Inout overflow system which may take a minute to get in but it's what I want so I will be patient. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSyVrNfgT4A

A 20x20" custom acrylic sump with massive fuge full of macro
Apex Jr -Owned
2 Jebao WP-40 -Owned
Tunze Osmolator -Owned
BRS Doser
Brine shrimp hatcher/doser
Phyto culture/doser
New LEDs or AI Sol (dont think it will cover it)
DIY Scrubber
Skimmer- Undecided
DC return pump

Livestock:
4 Ruby Dragonets (waiting for a male to come in)
Sexy Shrimp
2 Royal Grammas
Anthias
Possible additions:
Yellow Multibanded Pipefish, banded pipefish, dragonface pipefish, mandarins, other tiny rarites.

SPS -Montipora mostly
RBTA's and my 2 golden maroon clowns
euphyllias and blastos at the bottom.

It will be my best creation by far. I want a tank that is calming with a lot of tiny tenants that you have to really look for in contrast to the larger, fish only that will be beside it. And yes Pedro, I'm working on picts hold your britches.

Tagging along, love the size of this particular tank. This will be my next set up in the future. Good luck.

Will it be a BB or are you going to use sand?

Nice, love the DANGER sticker. You must be anxious to set it up.

Or just get white acrylic

So I just wanted to report my anemone was getting to much love from my clowns and was getting tiny. I covered It with egg crate and still tiny. Well I got my hands on one of those oxygen recyclers that old people and heavy smokers have and let the bubbles rip. Not 24hrs later the bubble is doing awesome! I think I cracked the bta code lol. Its a very loud piece of equipment but it seems to be helping a lot so I dont care lol.

BTW this is the 40g still:

Yes, I have 2 yellow tangs in a 40g who are very happy. The key is its a 24" tall tank. I've seen a full grown morish idol successfully kept in a tank this size.

Before you all start nipping at my heals I have successfully kept a sebae anemone before and ended up trading it. I wanted to see if my clowns would pick it up this time around though not likely..

Nice, those ugly slugs are pretty cool. I thought about getting one from SWH, I like how the blue stands out. Nice Build!

Not to much info on him and I've only seen him on the rock once in a week. He likes the glass and sand bed a lot.

So I said I would and this stuff has just been waiting to be assembled. Here is my super temporary t5 glo retrofit.

Even though the ballast, 24" reflector, and bulb are all t5HO glow brand by Hagen the reflector was way to long. Instead of hacking off the excess I cut a grove. The first was a mess lol.

but with 2nd one, I cut right on the edge of the V notch. It was the perfect size to lock in the plug.

Before / After

It doesn't look like much but its a nice boost.

Stand came in today, 10 mins of banging on the joints and presto!
I must say shes a bit tall with out the high ceilings from the last house. But I love the whole eye level thing, very sexy.

Did a bit of work this weekend. I may do plywood and trim sides, my plan to do simple brushed aluminum sheets may not work with the frame. Not stable enough in my book.

Just need to finish the trim work now, been hard to find time for this build.

The front panel is removable with strong magnets inbedded in it.

Are you running the light without a controler? What happened to the T5s?

Yeah I need to link it into my apex. T5s went with the 40g when it sold. I have another kit but I don't want to have an ugly retro kit on this one without a hood. The corals don't look great because of all the shuffling so not positive on keeping the light. The Chinese led didn't have enough blue for my taste either.

update

Been busy but here it is. I upgraded the flow with a gyre 130 (awesome!). That with the aqua-x over flow is all she needs and both super low profile also.

I will be going with the trigger systems cube stump as the next item. Then a frag tank for the second tier. Lights are ai sol blue with a 150w supplemental 20k running in the morning and evening on both ends of the time frame of the primary led for a few hours.

I always wondered why my grape Monti wouldn't grow, now I think it's impossible to bleach it out lol, it's the most demanding light sucking coral ever and now it grows and is pretty sexy to!

I now have a dual harem tank with one of my anthias changing and the ruby dragonets still growing and dancing

Super Magma Golden Torch Orange Blasto lol

A preview of what I fragged today. Apparently I'm supposed to ask before fragging the corals in my tank lol.
