Rusty Magnet
I just pulled this out of my tank. This has obviously been corroding for a while. There are no issues in my tank and everything is doing OK. What is remaining of this magnet needs to come out of the tank and it is otherwise no good, I just wanted to show an example where rusty magnets are usually red herrings and usually other things are problems in tanks having difficulty.
To be fair, everything on this tank is tippy top so this rusty magnet was not the final straw for anything. |

Rusty Magnet sounds like the name of a frontman from a new county rock group.
Rusty Magnet and the Coralline Boys

I don't understand why this keeps happening to people. Not acceptable!

It's the title song of their new album!

It is a cheap magnet on a feeding ring. Two Little Fishies brand - they are a know offender and I knew that when I put it in. People have issues with all of their magnetic products, but especially veggie clips.

I'm glad you shared this. People get upset about ANY metal in reef tanks. Clearly there are obvious known issues (i.e. copper) but a magnet would strike me as relatively harmless. Nice to see that validated.
