Battery-Operated Water Alarm

Ran across this so thought I'd share it. Not Apex, but it does the job at a whole lot less.

One has to be a little careful with those battery operated ones. I bought the cheap Harbor Freight version that had a major fault to it. When the battery runs low, it would set off the alarm. Not a normal 'chirp' like a smoke detector, but full on alarm. This happened to me while I was at work and a neighbor called 911. I came home to a bunch of police and firefighters in my home and having to explain that the alarm was just a simple water leak detector behind my stand and it was just a low battery that set it off and not a smoke detector. Needless to say, it went into the trash after that and I replaced it with one that plugs into my battery backup and been fine since.
