Derasa Clam Acclimation Questions

I am getting an ORA Derasa Clam shipped tomorrow and I have some questions about the best way to acclimate and add him to my tank.

My plan would is to drip acclimate him for about an hour or so to match temp and salinity and then to just add him to the sandbed.

Should I be doing any sort of dip or anything prior to adding to the tank? I've got the option of QT-ing for a little while, although I currently have a flame angel in the QT which I figure may be a risky pairing. My lights on the QT are also pretty weak, just power compacts.

I've got a 125 gallon 5' long reef tank (well, just starting on the reef part with my first handful or two of coral frags, LPS and a few SPS). Two 250W MH lights. I'm planning on putting him in a low to moderate flow section of the tank but with direct light.

With my clams (or any livestock really) I typically:
1) temp acclimate by floating the sealed bag in the display for 15min
2) drip acclimate for 40mins

A dip isn't needed, but a QT is always a good idea. The only thing I would worry about is the weak lighting in your QT tank. If it's your first clam, then just inspect closely for pyram snails and add directly to the display if there are no signs of them.

This is what pyram snails look like:

can you install any type of separation possible in the qt. prob is in inspecting for pyrams, ange, is what can be done at that problem. still should be qt'd, so imo, a qt is what needs to be arranged. derasas can stay in the low light of a qt for a while, at least 2 wweks if needed.
