And here it is!!! They are coming back in a few days to set everything up for me. I am going to have a hell of a time cleaning it but I'm sure they sell scrapers and such with x long handles. I just want it to be full of water, cycling. Oh well, patience will pay off!

I think we're considering pouring a slab on the outside of that wall next to the window to store and pump RODI water into the sump.

Ok bought both dry and live rock from LFS today. Nice to pick out each piece. Bought a mixture of different kinds of rock but almost all of the live rock was coralline encrusted. Got a few real big nice Tonga branches too. They were $8 a lb but well worth it. Overall I spent $500. I don't think that's bad. Tank will be set up tomorrow. Still need lights, heater(s), ato. I'm in debt to 2 ppl though so I don't think I'll be getting those components soon. :-(

Got the tank set up today. Cheap light while I'm cycling. This dry rock should turn live pretty good because I have so much live already in the tank. And I'm starting with several pieces coralline encrusted. So here it is:

Update: got my inkbird set to 77 and internal tank temp is 76 so I'm happy. Looks like this build will be heater-free. Also have brown slime building up on the filter floss between the 'fuge and return Chambers as well as stuff starting to settle in the 'fuge chamber. I have nothing in the 'fuge chamber, no filtration or anything so I'm going to need to get something in there. What is the best method of 'fuge filtration??

Well in all the excitement of my new tank I guess I sorta neglected my 26g. Well, it crashed today. I lost 2 of 8 fish. A Toby puffer and an anthia. So my new tank, less than a week wet, is now home to 2 barred zebra dartfish, 2 clownfish, a blue damsel and a Toby puffer. Far as I can tell there is no reason they shouldn't live. Salinity is 1.025, temp is 76, they all look happy. Well, except the damsel. It keeps changing from blue to black and back. I am most surprised about the puffer because it was puffed up and laying on it's side when I scooped it out of the tank. It slowely started gaining strength and swimming again a few minutes after being put in the big tank. I'm going to completely drain the 26g and start over, I don't know what I'll do yet for stocking it. I know I'm not starting it today!!

Well everything is going well with the new tank. I am having fun stocking it. The whole family is enjoying it. I have a LFS on a schedule to clean and do total maintainance twice monthly. It helps with it being 30" deep. I am also looking into getting glass lids and maybe a photon v2 from reefbreeders. Right now I have a cheap LED over the tank. Tank upstairs is now completely overhauled and ready to serve as hospital/quarantine tank. :-)

Havent updated this in some time. I was introducing fish into my tank and everything was fine until I added a starfish, which most likely is the cause of a velvet outbreak. Lost 10 fish before the treatment started working. So now I'm sorta starting over. I'll add fish much slower this time as well.
The reefbreeders photon v2 is over the tank now. That took ALOT of work get under the canopy the right way but me and Dad got it done. Apex came in, programmed and installed. I can't wait to install the PAR meter. That's all that's left, that and the auto top off.

So the tank is now home to a clown pair, my Valentini puffer, a yellow tang, a blue damsel, 2 barred dartfish and a blue dartfish, a fighting conch and some snails. I have a 6-line wrasse and a blennie in QT. I need more CUC. I also have plans for my ATO to sit beside the stand and the wall and a dosing pump and containers under the stand. My space underneath the stand will just about be used up after the dosing containers. Since jumping into corals I have about 12-13 individual pieces. I have found that I like buying them larger rather than small frags- although I do like the frags- too...
