I've been waiting 2.5 years to see what happens here. failure or success I want to know. Based on lack of posts, guessing failure.

would of been much easier and cheaper to put a above ground pool in the basement to use as a tank. A 1600g build like this is a huge undertaking and would consume all free time outside of your job, not to mention the money involved. Equipment for huge systems are a substantial investment and the used market for said equipment is nonexistent.

Well there is good news and there is bad news which is why I haven’t updated in so long. The tank did hold water. I initially had a leak at two thirds full so I had to back it down and ended up adding liquid rubber as I determined the stresses on the hard epoxy shell were too great. After that I enjoyed almost a year without any issues until my dryer caught on fire and completely destroyed my home :-/ unfortunately it was a total loss. With everything that I have learned during this build my next home purchase and subsequent tank build will be concrete to ease any worries.
I will say this to the naysayers, the tank held water with no leaks after the liquid rubber was applied and I enjoyed watching my puffer fish happily swim in his own private ocean ha thanks for all the wonderful memories gents.

Look. Four Years Ago you showed us plans for this tank and promised pictures and video of it filling/running. You promised that you would prove all the naysayers wrong. Now, after nearly two years of silence, you update us saying that it ran fine for nearly a year. And now the house burned down. What do you expect us to do with that? Did you ever document the tank filling? Did you post it somewhere else? Was the evidence destroyed in the fire?

Obviously, a house fire would be a catastrophe. That's an awful thing to happen. But this whole thing has been ridiculous.

Seriously your kidding right?
Im a home owner & have enough exp & common sense that when it starts taking longer to dry clothing that the exhaust venting is OBVIOUSLY getting clogged by lint & MUST be removed & cleaned out so that a FIRE won't happen. Its in the instructions on any new dryer.........................Its called normal maintenance and any Ins co. will tell you this. On top of this obvious well known issue im also a contractor and i clean out dryer vents very often because of this for tenants & home owners all the time so yea, pics of before & after the fire would certainly help to prove you are not just pulling the wool as to speak & did obviously not know how to keep a dryer clean as lint will back up inside the dryer & yes eventually start a fire being so stuffed it can no longer vent out only build up excessive heat by the flame tube. Sigh.....

A hornets nest had built up in the exhaust tube which stopped the flap from opening and closing. I hope none of you have to go through losing everything you’ve ever worked for and experience a bunch of *******s try and talk down to you over it. This is my last post on this forum. Feel free to cry Over not receiving the closure you keyboard warriors so desperately need. Peace
