Flo´s Comeback

Hey guys!

after a rather long time without any updates or anything from my side i am back... sort of

so what happened to the Drop-off tank... well me and my gf bought a new home, bigger better, but without the right place for a drop-off tank... so i had to tear it down... all the living animals are on vacation at a friends place

i am still trying to sell the tank but so far no luck with that

however the new tank is coming along slowly... just ordered the glas and build the new stand

the new tank is going to be 120cm long, 85cm wide and 65cm high so something around 600 liters, a bit more then the last tank.

this were the first visualizations...

i am going to use most of my equipment only the gyre will be sold since i got two additional Vortech MP40 QD

will build a manifold in the sump area to power my UV, Chaeto reactor and some other filters. I am also planning on using Atemkalk for the skimmer. Some friends of mine are using that and you really can tell the difference.

yesterday i got the stand:

and after a cleaning session everything looks like new:

so the roadmap for the next few weeks:
  • figure the new aquascape out
  • pluming
  • waiting for the glass to arrive
  • getting the room ready and as far waterproof as possible
  • find the money to buy the lights

so that´s it from me for now!

hope this tank will get as good as i hope!

cheers

Looking good, I always like that 80/20 aluminum but have always been hesitant to use it myself as I have no idea how to skin it! Are you planning on skinning it?

Hey Flo, danke

yes, found the power supply for my MP40QD
will buy some stuff tomorrow but without the glass i can't do that much...
will paint the wall behind the tank with latex color to make it more resistant against water and humidity

Congrats Flo!
Looks like this will be a well thought out plan, are you making the tank yourself? Anyway, look forward to seeing this beauty

i am planing all by myself as usual but the glass work is done by a pro

so guys just planned my sump area completely new:

i think this is going to be a super clean setup and thats worth all the brain power I've got
but with that the electrical stuff is separated from the watery stuff

what you guys think?

Cheers

I like the tank dimensions.....very close to my last tank...
It'll allow you a lot when you'll be scaping it.
Good luck Flo.....
I'll keep following.

Looking good Flo! The aluminum stand is a game changer- I'll never do a wood stand again. I would suggest lining the top and insides with sheets of HDPE, then you can clean up anything, even spilled glue with a wet paper towel.

The section named 'return and filters' that sticks out past the display, I can only assume it's for mangroves..

this section is for zeolite filters and my Chaeto reactor and for my vectra.
the only reason it sticks out past the display is because i have the room for it and the more liters the better and the return line can go straight to the top.
so no mangroves here ^^

Cheers
