New Clam Placement

So I am getting 2 new clams. A Sq and a Maxima. I want to make sure I acclimate them and place them appropriately. I have had issues with clams before due to lighting and now I think I am set. I have a new radian about 3 inches above the water in a 22" deep tank. I am told they should be good at the bottom in the sand. I wanted to make sure this was correct and if not how slowly... or should I place them somewhere else right when I get them. Thank you for any help.

should be good in sand. maxi needs more light than a sq, but the radian should be enough. put some small rubble rock in the sand that's under the maxi

So should I start them out at the sand? I may want them higher so should I start them in the sand and slowly move them up? How slowly?

Sounds good. When you say starting in the sand for the maxi how long and slowly should I raise them higher? I killed one before by doing this so I want to make sure I do it correctly.

move 1/4 up a week. u know he may not like where he is, regardless of height. if he is not attached in a week, give it another week.
