Riterri splitting or dead?
It’s been this doing this for days. I don’t see pieces of it falling off or floating away. Tentacles have been full and it’s tightly attached.

That’s the rock. It’s like a frilly donut. Just a giant hole in the middle.

It is slitting but not able to complete the division. I would help it along by cut it apart before it too late, getting infection from open wound. ASAP

That is definitely splitting then. I don’t know if you should intervene or leave it alone. I have never owned a riterri nem so I don’t know if cutting it will do it more harm. I do know they are very sensitive and can die over the smallest things from what I have seen. So it’s better off maybe waiting for someone that has kept one for a long time to chime in.

Still splitting. I don’t feel comfortable cutting it especially that it’s attached to a very big piece of rock. Going to let it be for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oh gosh, you’re brave. I’d be too scared for the other animals in the tank if something went wrong with the Ritteri.

Mine did that several years ago.
At first I thought it was dying as it looked like hell. After two months part of it moved around to where I could see it and I realized it was splitting. After 2.5 months, I finally had to help it split by using a sharp razor blade to cut the remaining tethered part. Both "halves" had developed mouths at that point. Give it time. Oddly enough it was Mid December when mine decided to split as well. How long has this been going on?

I noticed it early December. I’ll give it more time. Ty. I feel like it’s not evenly split and it’s still thick on one side than the opposite side.

It have been a month. I would have cut it separate much earlier, after just a few days, which I did in the past on rare occasion when this happened in my tank (arrested division). I had a number of Magnifica divided in my tank in the last 30 years. Good luck with him. I hope he won't die on you, and cause a lot of problem for your tank in the process.

Just an update. The anemone has been splitting for months now. It seems to have budded and not split. I now have 3 separate anemones. Large main that still has not formed a mouth and it looks like it’s about to split again. A 3” bud that recently formed a mouth and is now eating but not fully formed yet. A 1” bud is still forming.
In my observations, it seems that during the splitting process the anemone prefers less light. It seemed to deflate when there is too much light as well as move towards shade. My guess is that it doesn’t like its inner and stomach and mouth that are exposed during the split to be under intense lighting. Pictured is the 1” Ritteri in the shade Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They split when they are stressed. There is something not right in your tank. That is why they split and continue to split. You need to look and adjust this or they won't continue to do well.

I thought the same but I can’t find what is wrong. I have SPS, LPS and softies multiplying and growing well. Tested my levels and it’s all good. Not really sure what else to do at this point. I’ll wait it out. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Could be a flow issue as well. Did you try moving it? Definitely not happy if it's splitting so much.
