Brittle starsfish

I have this reactor that was used for carbon and gfo and turned it into a chaeto reactor. I's been up for months now, and I have brittle stars and pods living in there. For the last month or so, I've kept the lights on 24.7 running on red. Today, I wanted to see the growth so far, when I noticed that the brittle stars that were visible had missing legs? The only pods I have are these black small dots, and one that is maybe 5 times bigger and long, with black coloration in the back and some orange/red/brown in the front?
