Open design stand.
I planned on making a sump or larger canisters toward the side of the tank in the closet hidden in a gutted dresser or work table (easy access sump).

Build:
2 glued 3/4 inch top boards covered with hardwood sides.
2x4 wood stand with screw-on shims added for a bowed/ uneven floor.
Rear flat black painted light mounts with female nuts embedded on the top intended for a Kessil light arm to thread in without using their factory tank mounts.
I like how the carpet shows and the future sump would be out of the way someday, but's it's regular equipment for now.

Only 10 pics per post.
Follow up shots of the project fish room and how the DIY stands look at night.

I went to the local home outlet store and picked up a bathroom vanity. Took some modification but it works really well with my sr-80 tank. The first photo shows how it was for my Nuvo 30l. Then how i modified to fit the new tank.

One day I’ll take a photo of the back when it’s done. Pretty much all of the equipment I’m usinng is either 12 or 24 volt. So I got rid of all the little power packs and made one 24v power supply to run all of it. With a 12v step down for a couple items.

I'm not quiet finished setting it up yet, but I made my stand out of 6" marine grade aluminum channel. It's wrapped with oak panel that can be completely removed for easy access and maintenance. It's topped with a white granite counter top and a custom made rock wall background.

It has dry goods storage in the leg on one end and electronics panel on the other.

Welded steel stand, powder coated gloss black. Top sealed, and decoratively painted with coral scenes (KatyGillieMurals), surrounded with red oak, and flooded with 1/4" layer of pour on bar top epoxy. Shelves front and back. One rear shelf contains fish food, the rest are full of liquor bottles and glassware.

Thanks. It was a heck of a project, about 8 months from start to finish... if you can ever call a reef system 'finished' I've enjoyed it, and hope to continue enjoying it for many years.

I do have a sump... I converted a closet that is on the other side of the wall into an equipment room. A 55g tank converted to a sump, water change station, ATO system, dosing system, reactor, and an Apex to run it all.

The sump closet was intended mainly to keep thing easily serviceable and accessible. The main goal being to never again need to get down on my hands and knees to work on my aquarium. I've achieved my goals, but attractive was never one of them
