Fantastic thread! Really enjoying your story telling ability. Kept relating parts to my husband as I read along so he knew I wasn't the only one with these issues. Lol. Almost makes me wish I had created my build thread sooner in the process. You could have had some laughs at my struggles. I have zero experience with wood working and could really relate to your canopy build.
My stand (75g linked above) is based on RocketEngineer's design. I went with shaker style doors to avoid the miter corner crap, except on the trim for the stand itself. For that I had help though. Of course, my dad doesn't have much wood working experience either but he's worked with steel for 40 years so some of the same principles apply. Sold my Vulcan (only a 900 and it was too big for me) so wouldn't mind more pictures of the bike either! Subscribed for more entertainment... And to celebrate when you get it all done!

The bike is my "toy". I'm constantly changing something on it. Below is a pic from 3 years ago and I've changed a lot of things since then, but it's still one of my favorite pictures. I had talked my wife into posing for me. I call this pic "The two things I Ride the Most" Here is a picture of the canopy with the doors on it. I need to put some fans in it, to blow across the water. But that may wait until after I do the stand. Not to bad for zero work working experience. .

That was suppose to say "Not to bad for zero wood working experience."
Wonder why I can't edit it... odd.

I have a full "two-up" I can swap on there when she wants to ride; seat, sissy bar, even windshield and lowers if needed.

Took three weeks to get the "Re-Re" in. And.. it was the EXACT SAME measurements as the first (and wrong) lid they sent me. Exact same. I can't use it. It's to small and would fall into the tank. I just can't seem to win. 2 steps forward, 1 step back.. 2 steps forward, 1 step back. O... wow... I get it! I'm in Texas and that's the Texas Two Step!!! 2 steps forward, 1 step back. I should have known I was doing some sort of stupid line dancing. ****ed about the lid. I think karma is getting back at me for all the mean things I've done in my life. .

I'm really sorry for not updating anything. My "shop" is in my garage. There is a month or so (here in South Texas) where ya just don't wanna do any type of work in the garage.. just to hot. Plus.. back in August I bought a spiffy new toy.. a new truck, and then spent the next few months modding it. My time (and money) went into it for awhile. however, I'm ready to start back on this and build the stand. I told the wife that this morning, and she simply rolled her eyes. No respect.. no respect at all. I went back just now and re-read this thread. The Poo Doors made me laugh again. It really was that bad... I'm sure the amusement will continue. It would be nice if the rest of this thread turns out to be just "wow, look how great this turned out!.." But it will probably be "wow, look what a piece of crap I just built!" .

Ugh, you have NO ideal how true that is. soo, I bought a 4wheeler last week. The wife has been wanting one for awhile... I keep it in the garage.. but I already also have a motorcycle in there (on a lift). Soo.. not much room. Now, the wife is ragging on me cause I ALSO have now started on the new stand. Jeez, I bought the 4wheeler cause SHE wanted one.. and now she's going all evil cause it's taking up room in the garage. Just can't satisfy some people... Anyways, I finally started on the stand. The wife asked how long THIS is going to take. I said I really don't know. She snarled and stalked off. I swear I heard some sort of demon/witch chanting under her breath.. with my name being repeated. .
