I would love to see a video or step by step series of how you actually frag your pieces. I know you stated before that some are done with single polyps so seeing the actual sizes you start with and the process would be great!! Thanks again!!

Maybe this question is already been asked but just a curiosity. What do you do with all your frags once they out grown your tank?

For now, the next video will be showing the way I do when some of my frags are generated from the polyp - the video was recorded today - and I intend to continue showing them growing until they reach the plugs. Cheers,

Great!! Also I'm glad how you run everything with T5, has switching to LED ever cross your mind? My opinion on LED is that they are not quite there yet, I also don't like the fact that you can't play with the colors.

This is the video showing the way I prop some of my acros from the polyp. I made 4 frags and I hope that, at least, one of them will survive in order to see him become a colony. It's shown how prominent should be the polyp scleritis to be possible to remove it from the colony.
I hope you like it! Cheers,

Machado:
why do you put the iodine water in the holder? is it to prevent stagnate water? most of the time i dip my corals in the iodine to help heal after the cutting, but wasnt sure why you put it in the cup? unless it wicks up to the cut coral. thanks for that video! and as mentioned, i cant wait for the next one!

WOW Thank you so much for this great video!!
I have a couple of questions and I may also know the answer to some questions posted already. Some questions may sound dumb but I am still learning and I still read a lot around but get confused sometimes. -When you cut the small colony from the mother colony does it release anything being cut under water? -A polyp would be that small thing you cut off right, so why do some people when it comes to a zoa or acan they mention polyp or head. Isn't polyp and head the same thing? -When you cut off the small colony do you remove all the small polyps and frag them? What do you do with the small colony left over without polyps? Or maybe you also frag the small colony and the polyps will grown again perhaps? -Where can I get those covers and holders?? I am in the states. -How big do you let the polyp grow in the cover until it can be removed from the cover? -How fast does the polyp grow with your method? I am assuming the reason you leave the polyp inside the cover with Iodine with RO water in the holder, is to give it and help the polyp to grow successfully perhaps? Being that the polyp is so small, it has a greater chance of surviving being submerged in iodine and RO. |

To prevent infections and heal the injuries of the polyp existing under the rubber cover. Quote:

When appropriate conditions are present (water parameters, water movement, water temperature, lighting conditions, calcium level, etc.) the polyp spreads rapidly over the rubber cover and a new polyp (bud) is produced after +/- 4 or 5 weeks at growing edge of the polyp. I use iodine to prevent infections and heal the injuries in the tissues of the polyp localized under the rubber cover. Cheers,

What do you do with all of your SPS?
Also, how to do ensure you don't get Acro eating flat worms?
