Help with coral!!!!

It some kind of tree coral I could never figure it out. When it's doing good it looks like this. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1335478163.070795.jpg. I cut the smaller one off and put it on another piece of live rock.

I would say that's when it looks bad as well. Leathers open up much more than that. Leathers don't require strong lighting so unless you're running basic or old bulbs thats not the problem. Looks stressed due to the poor water quality. Keep in mind if you did "frag" it than it will take a few days to heal.

many, many things could be wrong. Tell us what your readings are starting with alkalinity and salinity and what its neighbors are and we can be more specific.

Salinity 1.024-6; alkalinity 8.3-9.3 on KH scale; calcium 420; magnesium 1300, temp 78-80, nitrate .2. Ammonia 0. No filters: lps tank. Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low.

Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny,royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.

Salinity 1.024. Alk 8.5 mag 1320 cal 440. The only thing I can think is my wife got a frogspawn frag and it looked very sick. It was all gone after two days and since then it has been like that. The frogspawn was up current from it.
