This is my favorite build of all time on RC and, despite the terrible mechanical failure, it is just too inspirational to simply write off as a tragedy.
Peter and Mr. Wilson did an incredible job in thinking through and putting together an outstanding system. The leadership and positive tone maintained throughout the thread generated some extremely useful discussions of best practices throughout the thread. Happy Holidays Nineball, Mr. Wilson and all who contributed to the many topics covered throughout the thread. I too hope that there will be a Nineball 2.0 tank but even if there isn't I'm sure many other great tanks will benefit from the lessons learned here. |

Like a lot of people here I first started reading this thread a couple of years ago and then had a break from the hobby. Now i'm just about to set up a new system and back here i've just read the whole thread and i'm sure like everyone else who has read this I feel incredibly sad.
Hope you come back Peter. Best wishes from England. Last edited by paulmartin; 12/15/2015 at 10:17 AM. |

I just stumbled upon this tank .. I took the time over the past few days to read some of the initial posts and the pics of the install. Great stuff and it was truly impressive. Sorry for the loss and hope to see a new thread showing a new build in the near future. Thanks for being part of the community.

I know it doesn't count for much, but I quit watching Tanked because of it.

It does count if you wrote to the TV network that airs the program and to the program's producers to tell them you are not going to watch their show any more because of this. It especially counts if you write to the program's sponsors.

I donot think Nineball would at an instance sic the Lawyers which prompts me for the community here to state, I sued the Province of British Columbia for Expropriation of a 59,000 acre Mine they made into a Wilderness Park, They refused to pay me ANY Money, I won in Court with eight Court of Appeal Decisions and a refusal by the Supreme Court of Canada to hear Provinces Appeal I won but the cost on my well being was immense and really, It stole a lot of years from me. And another batch of crooks stole so much money from a Company I acquired ( at the time it was the largest Fraud in Canadian history of hundreds of millions) Lawyer, Accountant and two Businessmen got 6, 7, 7, and 12 years in Jail (I got 30% back). I would not wish either lawsuit on my Worlds worst enemy. I'm very sorry to learn of this tragedy.
I had read a good part of the thread many months ago...and never completed it....never commented. I'm tagging along now to see how Peter writes his future history.

Anyone know anything about this continuing story? I think we would all love to have Peter back here making us all feel appreciated.
I really hope V2 is on the drawing board. |

If there is some kind of legal dispute that is going on, he may not be able to share any details with all of us. That is my guess for the long silence. I am sure when the time is right, Peter and company will be back and talking about V2.0. I hope all is well Peter! You have helped so many of us in the reefing community with your build and your best practices. I can't wait to help participate and help create V2.0.

Peter has already made it clear he has no intention to pursue any legal action. Helps if you read the thread.

I was actually concerned about some kind of counter suit from [] the tank manufacturer.
If I was in Peter's situation I would be majority owner of that company by now. Maybe they saw it the same way and did some kind of preemptive [dirty] lawsuit. Even though he had no intention of legal action, they might have seen a need to cover their assets. If I was dragged through something like that I wouldn't have the heart to pursue a reboot either. I hope I'm wrong, and that they are just stalling. We miss you Peter! |

When this information was passed on to us from Peter he made it clear he didn't want this thread to end up being about bashing, lawsuits and legal stuff. We should respect that. I hope one day I'll see a post in my email inbox from this thread directing me to the newer and better 2.0 thread

Peter,
It's been a while since I've logged into the forum. About a year ago I moved to NC from FL and had to disassemble my 220 gallon tank and sell most of my stuff off. For now I am living in an apartment and could not keep the tank. I want you to know that during the inception of my tank and the creation of my rockscape your tank was an inspiration to mine. You inspired me as you have inspired so many others! I logged on to the forum today for one reason alone. I wanted to see an update on your tank, on the tank that your refer to as "our" tank. My heart sank... A story that I have followed since the beginning, the renovations of your lower level, the delivery of the tank, the set up, the inspirations you asked for from others for design concept, the selection of fish, the selection and growth of coral and many other aspects. I can not imagine what you have gone through... I can't. I post this to say that I truly hope that it is not the end for you, I see that it has been a while since you and Mr. Wilson have posted and update, both in the thread and on FB. I hope that you are keeping a big secret from us all and soon you will be reveling a new tank to the world... To the WORLD. You're an inspiration Peter. Truly. You have no idea how many people you have touched. These forums are powerful. Not only to the people who have posted and participated, but to those who have silently followed along and to the best of their ability and within their means created a little piece of marine paradise in their own home because of you. I hope and believe this is not the end. |
