You see them all the time for around 200$ to 275$ in the classified section.

I was in sticker shock too the first time that I bought one. But they are so nice and easy to clean. I used cheap Koralias for years, and they got the job done fine. Just a little noisy sometimes and ugly to look at.

So are they worth it. I am just using a couple of fluval cp4s right now. Fixed flow.

I really enjoy mine. But having said that I really enjoyed my Tunze pumps previously too.

Not sure how much flow you want to achieve but have you given the Reefbreeders RN-1 or RP-M a look?
Nice small footprint, they can do pretty much everything a vortech can do. A little more than half of the max flow that the vortech can achieve so a knock there but a lot easier on the wallet. |
