Icecap Gyre interface.

Hi Matthias

The general consensus is that this will work with the Profilux or is GHL going to release their own interface?

http://www.coralvue.com/icecap-gyre-interface-module

Can you please confirm.

Thanks.

it will work on GHL you would just need the GHL break out box.

Hi,

The Icecap interface can be connected to the Profilux with a 1-10v cable. All you need is an available "L Port" and you're good to go.

LBF-AP box, this is a junction box that comes with a pre wired GHL L port cable. the box has the 0-10v connections labelled inside so you can wire any 0-10v device to the ProfiLux without fear of wrongly wiring the inputs to the controller

we will have these available on our new retail site that launches THIS WEEK!

According to Matthias, there is no need for the breakout box.

Mike, you can use any available L port, including the ones on the Expansion box. Programming would be the same like a Tunze pump.

Yes Im aware you need an L port but more importantly you need the input cable to that L port.

So where does the cable come from??? GHL do not make an open ended pre labelled 0-10v cable, you still need an input cable to the L port as GHL refuse to make available the pin connections to make your own.

The LBF-AP provides this cable and an easy to wire junction box.

It comes with a dedicated GHL wired L port cable for ProfiLux? This is news to me for sure. I was not aware they were throwing in the box and direct plug and play cable to ProfiLux. I know it has a 0-10v cable but with no wired plug on the end. (And the reason for the LBF-AP box)

If it now comes with a GHL wired cable in the box this is great forward thinking on their part.

I think this is the confusion, unless very mistaken no it does not, I can't imagine them spending the money to make a dedicated GHL cable unless GHL have done a deal with them which I would of thought would/should of been a big marketing announcement.

So unless corrected and I will eat my socks, you need LBF-AP box.

So, to control Gyre with Profilux we need to get Icecap interface and GHL break out box.

CRAZY!!!!!!

On the APEX for 0-10v connections its a simple wiring connection tab one for 0v and one for 10v I believe. However with GHL you have two ports in one so there is a dedicated socket that needs a plug, this plug wiring to my knowledge has never been made available, although not rocket science I guess to figure out. But you still need an RJ45 plug wired to the cable.

So to make it easy GHL made the LBF-AP box to act as this interface for multiple items.

So from what I can ascertain YES you will need the break out box, unless you want to work out the wiring yourself and add an RJ45 cable to the end. Of course not recommended, if you get it wrong you fry your controller.

One on our new website, as to when in stock depends on GHL's warehouse getting stock into the USA.

Good info Michael. Just to add, when you go in and cut the wire on the cable, make sure you know what cable goes where in the LBF-AP box. That's just to avoid any damage to the Profilux.

The output lines from the Icecap will be available from Ice cap. the controller will either show + and - or the cable marked.

The Profilux L socket wiring is as follows. I needed this when I attached TMC Aquabeams since although TMC say they have cables to attach to the Profilux, they have not got around to making them yet.

But be warned, you are on your own if you make your own cables rather that using that box thingy (which wasn't available to me here in NZ either).
