I just had a conversation with my wife stating that this was my ideal tank size, except 24" tall so I can still reach the bottom .

That's gonna be awesome -- can't wait to see it going!

freaking AWESOME... great dimensions too. 30" tall is perfect for that size tank.

Here's what I like so far:

Angry, intoxicated, excessive online ordering

No plans

Demolition

Heavy guage steel, grinding,welding

Picking the wrong color

Running out of supplies

Lack of respect for doors and walls

No fear of electricity

The dogs!!

Spike

And most of all Beer and Jack Daniels!!!

Hey, need any help!!

Indeed... I wish I had that kinda money to throw around. I mean, sounds like the $$$ worth of Alcohol is about what I paid for my system.

Are you going to keep the caster wheels on the stand?

No, the wheels are just to move it around, and was planned as a way to get the tank in to the house. Without wheels, a forklift is about the only way to move that stand...

rockwork is very cool.
details? explanations?
How the heck did you put that together and how the heck will you get it in the tank without a major crash and burn?

OK tank is on the stand, and undamaged.. believe it or not,

BONUS CHALLENGE:

Name the day I first manage to put an annoying scratch on one of the 2 veiwable sides of this tank...

winner gets a NO expense paid trip to the couch in my fish room (once it has a couch) and a cold can of cheap american beer to drink while sitting there...

The rockwork is built in 2x2' cubes. Its just zip ties egg crate and spray foam. They are not very heavy, and the openings on the top of the tank are 24"x30". I believe with a little help I can lift and place them in the tank pretty easily.

Bet the part I know people are waiting for. How the heck did 2 people manage to unload a 1000 pound tank off a trailer, get it on to the stand, and in to the house without breaking it...

well...

My girlfriend usually just hides when I get going on something.. but she popped out to see if everyone was still alive..

some of the aftermath...

Then I got destracted again.... I didn't want a garage door on my fish room anymore... so I ripped it out.

new wall going in... don't laugh to hard. I've been called alot of things over the years. A carpenter is not one of them.

and this is where I stopped for the night. There will be 2 41x45" windows in that wall, dark curtains, and a couch to sit and stare at my tank and drink beer (or other stuff)

Tommorow I need to frame in the windows, insualte and screw in some drywall, and hopefully cut the wheels off the stand so I can get it leveled out, do a leak test, then put new filters on the RO/DI system and set it loose for a week to get the tank filling. Hopefully get the rockwork in there as well. I work 60 hours a week, so not much gets done during the week.

Other than my 2 excessive hobbies (fish and classic Mopars), I live pretty cheap. I'm also not married and don't have kids. I really don't have the kind of money you might think.

this is a very rough sketch of my fish room plans so far. If anyone is good with one of those 3d programs, I'd love a more veiwable workup...

Edit:

oops. there should be an 8x2 stand on the left wall by the couch.... where I eventually plan on putting a frag tank on.
