Not that crazy about the chaos of corals on the sandbed, but everything sitting on the rockwork is to die for.

I'm a coralline algae glass scraper afficianado myself. But, your rockwork with the corals looks awesome.

Congrats Sanjay! How long have you had the Chaoti's Wrasses? I would love to try one but I have been hesitant due to their poor survival rate.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.
@ ojafri: The overflow box is basically a 3 sided tank attached to the back of the tank, in my case the dimensions are 7ft long X 12" tall X 8" wide. The bottom of the box is drilled for 2 2" Durso type returns. The back pane of the tank has a cut out at the top for water to flow over from the tank into the box. Keith: Unfortunately, the chaoti did not last long. I had just got them when I started writing the article in June, and when I got back from my trip to Israel in July, they were gone. Beautiful fish, but they seem to die even after eating well and being in the tank for a month or more. Will try them one more time, before I give up on them. They are one of my favorite fish. sanjay. |

Thank you for sharing your beautiful tank with us! I found your write-up to be very informative, and am glad to know that AEFW are not necessarily the end of all.
Your tank truly deserves to be in the spotlight. I wish you a wonderful 20+ more years in the hobby! |

Sanjay,
Very, very nice setup and write-up. I will be referring to your write-up when I set up my new system. (Everything died (all fish, all corals) in my recent move (cause still unknown, but I have my theories), and I will be rebuilding bigger (200-300 gallon size) and better. I, too, have always preferred a more natural look and never done a wall-o-rock configuration, and the structure you assembled looks great! Also, I, too, prefer pairing a select few over the menagerie approach -- especially where that menagerie approach combines species from Atlantic, Pacific, and wherever else. (By the way, give those scooters some privacy! ) I will be consulting your info for lighting especially. Also, I, too, finally have a fish room with water supply and drain (utility sink) in place, such that I can set up to eliminate lugging buckets up and down. Your setup is a nice blueprint for what I had in mind to do, too (using SpectrPure auto topoff system fed directly from the RO/DI unit, but a dual tank system to mix new saltwater high, then gravity feed it into the sump when doing water change). All in all, very nice, and congrats! (By the way, one of the Orbitech patents is being re-examined (no substantive action on the merits, but that will be coming soon), and there have been office actions in connection with pending applications that finally apply far better art than before, and I am watching with great anticipation to see how OT tries to respond to them.) |

Congrats buddy! Your tank is truely inspirational! If my system was half as nice as yours, I'd spawn in it nightly too! Talk about the wife acceptance factor! See you in a couple of weeks.
