cycle question
Hi,
Below are the results I got after I did a water change in cycling my tank. Is it safe to put fish in? Nitrate 0 ppm Nitrite .76 ppm Amonia 0 Ph 8 Alkalinity 11.2 dkh |

To Reef Central Hello! I moved this to a new thread, as the discussion was a bit off-topcc for the other thread. I'd probably wait for a week of zero ammonia before adding any animals. That gives time for the nitrite to vanish and any secondary metabolites to decay. A few 15-20% water changes might help with the process.

You never want any ammonia or nitrite to be present..
So zeros for those 2 numbers.. Anything above zero indicates either a massive death event in a cycled tank or an insufficient bacterial population in a new tank.. Wait till you get those zeros then you can start stocking..
