40x20x25 tank

What can I do with a 40x20x25 tank and invertebrates ?

Comes out to 85 gallons, not a bad tank.

With that size tank, I'd put smaller fish, with maybe the biggest fish a pygmy angelfish, added last.

You can do a lot. What do you want to do? How difficult it may be is going to be a lot more dependant on the animals you're thinking of keeping. As alluded to above you are limited to the size of fish you want to keep but as far as corals it's more your wallet that's going to be the deciding factor than the tank.
