new make up water testing 12 . how do ya bring it down ? s.g. is at 1025.

What brand of Salt did you use for your water change mix? Do you have another test kit just incase that one is bad for whatever reason? When I was using Red Sea Pro even that didn't mix up that high of ALK. Weird..

Test it a couple more times to see if its true. I had a batch of reef crystals that tested 11 consistently so i did some research and turns out that RC is sometimes inconsistent. I still used it just in very small quantities mixed with other batches

I stopped using reef crystals because my alk was super low.

ive had it test low before, not a big deal because I can raise it. first for me at a overly high test .

12 dKH ok for partial water changes

Just don't do huge changes with it. I use RC. It's not too shabby.
