lighting for stony corals
Hey all. I have a 55g reef tank with all soft corals. I am currently using the marine orbit LED. I would like to get some sps, lps, and maybe a clam at some point but I dont think my light is good enough? Where can i find info on what light would be good?

The aquaticlife 4x54 watt t5ho is perfectly sized for that tank. I grew sps from top to bottom with it.

What kind of light do you want to use? There are lots of good options out there.
2-250 watt MH with actinics 4 or 6 bulb t-5 higher end LED (AI Hydra52, radion G3, etc)

Being the size of the 55, as much as I hate to say, halides would not be the best unless you went with the 150w versions, etc. A 4 bulb T5 would be a great light, plus you can play with the colors a bit more.
