Mangrove effectiveness for nutrient export

How effective are mangroves for nutrient export? I've read the grow slow and its suggested around 1 per 10 gallon of water volume but I'm curious about its use for nutrient export. How efficient are they?

Here's a good article. They are limited, and you have to watch out for their leaves falling in your sump / fuge. But, they are a good natural way to do it.

I agree to scratch that idea. They grow very slowly, consequently they take up far less nutrients than macroalgae.

Yeah, space is an issue and no way to do a remote sump. I glanced over an old article while at work, but missed the key point with the article. Thats what I get for trying to read something while multitasking. Anyway... here's another good one on their use for export expressing the same point of view - not a good choice.
