adding copperband butterflyfish to tank

I would like to add Copperband Butterflyfish to the tank that has tangs and angels in it. would that be a problem to butterflyfish? my angels and tangs all feed from automatic 5 time a day pellet feeder. my tank got lots of large size pods in it. and im planning on feeding butterfly fish additionally with frozen food. 500 gallon tank!
Im worried about possibly aggressiveness from other fish to Copperband Butterflyfish!

my tang did like to give my CBB a bit of a hard time. nothing too bad though for the most part.

my tank is smaller (160g) and they were the only two large fish. so i would feel much better about having a larger tank, and multiples to spread out the aggression.

if you don't already have one, i would strongly suggest a nice acclimation box. they take a lot of the stress out of initial introductions, and can give new additions a more relaxed way to meet their new tank mates.

+1 in addition I would thoroughly observe and inspect the copperband you plan on purchasing for issues with its mouth and/or disease. They often come in with a injury to the mouth which puts you at a huge disadvantage from the start.

Don’t plan on your Cbb eating frozen food. If he does, great. But most of the time on arrival they will only eat live food like black worms or live brine shrimp. Or a clam on the shell from your grocery store

You can then wean him into frozen food but some will never eat frozen, ever

i'll also put in a plug for live white worms. they live a lot longer in saltwater than the blackworms.

i order mine from Angel's Plus

My CBB would have starved to death if he didn't take to live black worms in the QT. He did eat mysis but sparingly but was a fanatic and still is for the worms. Now in the main tank with the other fish he's moved on to eating brine shrimp and LRS reef frenzy as well.

story of my life in this hobby.

they're not that bad. if you can get them on to more regular fare they're actually quite hardy.

mine did love to eat LPS though.
