Overflows on a 220

I picked up a used 6 foot 220. It has overflows on both ends, centered on the ends. Two drains and one return on both ends. Both overflows need to be resiliconed back in.

I would prefer they be in the back corners but really don’t feel like redrilling any holes. So I am leaning to just putting them back in where they were or maybe just using one and putting glass over top the holes on one end.

Comments anyone?

You will want the extra flow of 2 drains. I have a 215 with 2 overflows and would never remove one.

I bought a used 210 with one overflow on the end, two drain holes and one return. The guy had it in a wall visible from both sides.
Mine does fine with one overflow, so I think it would be ok if you covered up one set of holes.

You need to ask yourself, how much turnover do you want/need? and how much one overflow will handle? If it was my tank I would utilize both.

I picked up a 6' 220 peninsula tank, overflow on one end. I don't like giving up the space or looking at an internal overflow, so I covered the holes with a piece of glass and converted it to an external bean animal overflow.
