I have one in my 40 breeder that I set up a few months back. It seems to be doing well so far.

Building a new tank for the mangroves. Thought I’d brand the exposed side of the overflow box. More pictures as it comes together.

Got the new mangrove refugium set up. In doing so, I found what I think might be 1 eunicid worm, though it was in 4 pieces that are still squirming around in a bucket. Hopefully that's all there is to the worm, and there aren't others that where transferred with the shovel scoops.

Here's the new mangrove tank.

And the worm.

As do I, the mangrove is the most unique I've seen.

Thanks! I didnt really think much over it, just trying to make a space to mimic some of the mangrove type tanks I’ve seen at various aquariums. They’ll have to grow a lot to get to that stage, but that’s the idea. I have a couple clams in the middle section, and I’m hoping they can grow well there.

Definitely not just one worm... I ended up pulling the sand out of the tank entirely and sifting through it. I found a total of at least 4 rather larger eunicid worms, 2 of which were easily over 14" long. I'm shocked I had never noticed them before now (the sand bed they were coming from only measured 13"x22"). But, all of any consequence are now gone. and given the sifting there's no way anything bigger than 1/2" could have possibly made it through. I ordered a few Halicheores genus wrasses for this tank, hopefully they can manage any future issues while any remainers are small. However, I'm concerned about how much the sand sifting process disturbed the mangroves, hopefully they'll recover quick enough, but with the removal and sifting I'm sure I pulled a HUGE amount of nutrient load out of the sandbed. I don't know how big a deal that will be... time will tell.

I'll have to grab some new pictures sometime. FWIW, the mangroves died, huge nutrient load, been fighting algae for ~6 months, but I've started to see an improvement. The replacement mangroves are starting to have an impact, so hopefully things are turning around.
