Where to get NSW free?

Where can I get free NSW other than La Jolla or Santa Barbara?

Those are the only places I know of. Wish there was one a little closer to me.

Sadly, They closed it when UCI took over operations of the facility, saying it was to big a liability risk.

Prob also didn't help that several service guys were filling up hundreds of gallons to profit from. Its a bummer for the hobbyists that just took what they needed.

Typical UCI behavior. I wonder why UCSB and UCSD don't have similar "liability risks".

The free water at Kerckhoff Marine Laboratory was really nice while it lasted, but there were just too many people abusing it. The water was left running several times draining their tank, service companies were taking hundreds of gallons daily.

I meet and have talked with the service guys there as well as the people working at the institute. The service guys were not a problem, as far as I could tell. They chatted and helped the workers from time to time,do did I. From talking to the workers we were more of a problem. They found the phone calls from hobbiest to be very annoying. Not to mention the arguments a few apparently got into. The service guys always put the hose away and turned the water off. The only problems I ever saw were hobbiest that would not let people from the state agancies and schools jump in head of them in line. They were always to get priority, after all that is why the water supply is there to begin with. Yes it was aggravating if a service guy was getting 400+ gallons and they just started when I would pull up. From what I saw they would always stop and let an individual fill 5-20 gallons worth. Most would ask how much you needed and offer to let you go. They always willingly let the Kirkoff customers go first, without them even asking. That is how I found out they got priority. I usually picked up 200+ gallons at a time for my self and a friend, so I would wait or come back another time if they were filling large tanks.

You need to know that it is no longer by the pier. It’s been moved a little way up the hill on Shellback way

Merry Christmas 🎁🎄! You’re welcome for the pic! I remember how hard it was to find my first time as well so I pinned the spot on my maps
