All Lights Installed.

Here are a few pictures of the canopy with all the lights installed. Five 6500K 26/100w, and two ?nm 13/60w bulbs, for a grand total of 156/620 watts.

I originally had made power cords out of some spare 12-2 romex that I wired plugs on the end, but decided that they had to go because they were not flexible, and they looked crappy anyway. Now I have wired them up with two separate (Store bought) power cords so I now have a sunrise/sunset option, flexible cords, and I think they look better as well.

If by "splash guard" you mean "silicone", then yes, I will.

Thanks for the compliment!

I would definitly paint the inside white. Latex water based paint. Killzs is the best to use, it will help protect the wood, + white helps reflect the color. JMO.

Take a pic with all the lights on with all your nice selections of LE zip-tie frags. See if it brings out the colors.. With that much white you might want to switch one out with another Blue..

Full Lighting Pictures.

These pictures were taken with all seven bulbs powered on. My camera seems to not like high light scenarios. For instance, all of these pictures were taken this morning in a fully illuminated room, lights on, and full sun, yet the pictures look like the room was pitch black. I'm sure there is some sort of adjustment or option to fix this small problem, but I don't have the knowledge and patience to figure it out on my own. Anyway, the lighting is very bright... not HQI bright, but still pretty damn bright.

I took that stupid sticker off the side of the tank too. It said something about redeeming the tank warranty, but I'm pretty sure that I voided it when I drilled a hole in it and smeared silicone all over it.

I agree with Lon it looks good but I wonder how much of a difference those blues make with all those white on.

White And Blue.

Here they are, see if you can tell the difference. Looking at the pictures, I could not. If someone would be so kind as to explain how to post video, or improve my camera settings, I'm all ears(eye's).

I'll try a video later, but I will have to use this camera to shoot it.

I had the camera sitting on something stable, like a table. I could get out a tripod, but I don't think that will make much difference. I wish you could see it as well as I can. The difference is obvious.

I would just go with the "LE Zip-Tie Frags", but I'm not sure if my skimmer will be able to keep up with the tremendous bio load. I would have to add them slowly, giving my live rock time to acclimate to such an extreme.

Well, the Minwax "Deep Ocean" is very tempting, but I'm just not sure. I still would like to get some more opinions on this. One thing to consider with the stain is the fact that because I am using birch ply through out, I will not be able to raise the grain much prior to staining. Not a totally bad thing, but I wont be able to get a lot of contrast.

Any color suggestions?

I have a LE blue stag ZT with your name on it, but get it fast, these are becoming more and more popular by the minute, as well as the LE Pink Monster ZT, which are becomming a very hot item with the ladies...

I used purple pvc primer. The same stuff you would use prior to cementing pvc pipe/fittings together. Oatey is the most common brand name for the product, and the one I used for the wall. Oatey makes primer in red color as well. I have not tried the red yet. I just brushed it on to the high spots on the foam, and around the perimeter. I used about two-three coats, following the same lines each time to make it darker and darker until I got the desired effect. I glued the sand in the low spots.
