Powerhead for other use?

Hi everyone

Here is a newbie question. Possible turning a powerhead into a submersible water lifter? I have few laying around. Would be nice able to convert them to a pump to use for my auto top off.
Any suggestion on how to do it?

Thank You All.

Just find flexible plastic tubing to fit the output, and make sure the air bubbler (venturi) is closed, and you're good to go. You'll want to put a hole in the tubing at some point along the length to break the vacuum when using it for auto top-off to avoid flooding. Also, make sure you check the distance your pump is rated to carry water.

All you need to do is make sure the line is above the water line not in the water

You could use an Apex with two optical level sensors to turn on and off the pump. Kind of expensive, but doable.
