kessil a150w or a350w???
I think this light sound amazing. Not sure if there are cheaper options in the same category. But if not I want one. I have 37 gallon column tank that is I believe 24 or 25 inches tall which light would I need?

I have a 120 gal with two kessils for lighting. I have the ocean blues which are 15000k and all my corals are doing great. The average price for them are 265.00 but the new one out which can work on a dimmer is the 350 that one is 499.00. The kessils work great and the tank looks just like if u were diving under the water.

I think it depends on what you want to keep. The A350 is primarily for deep tanks 24" or deeper. AND, used for SPS corals that need the extra intensity. I'm using the A150w for a mixed tank, but my tank is only 16" deep. I plan to add some SPS later once the system is more established.
I love these lights, the look of the 15k Ocean Blue, the intensity and shimmer are fantastic.

I'd second the 350w for coverage in your tank. ou might have to go with two 150w's and for that price it's more cost effective for a dimmable 350w at 399/

I would only get the A350W if you have a wide tank. IMO the A350 would be better and punch light deeper into the tank allowing you to keep more demanding corals deeper in the tank.

What are is the length and width of your tank?
Either way I'd go with the A350 or A350W personally. I had an A150 over my 17 X 17" cube and it did the job but didn't excel. My acropora that was about halfway up the water column did OK but lost some of its color. Ricordea and zoas were stretching for more light. I sold it and I've got an A350 on the way. If your tank is wider than 24" I'd probably go with the A350W, but if it's not that wide I'd go with the A350. As someone already said it's going to offer a bit more punch. |
