Best protein skimmer for RS-75 Eshopps Sump?
Hello all,
I currently have a: 40 Gallon Visio tank Eshopps Sump RS-75 (skimmer compartment 7.5x9.5") *looking to re-establish reef tank I've been into this hobby for about 6 years. Ran a 28g nano cube without a sump or protein skimmer successfully. Recently, I upgraded to the above 40 gallon tank. I know nothing about protein skimmers in terms of hardware (I know what they do just don't know what brands are good, durable, etc.). I hear that Bubble-Magus NAC 3.5 will fit my sump and is suitable for up to 80 gallons which is fine. But what do you guys recommend? How much space is need so that the pump in the skimmer compartment can pump water to the cup without issues (if that matters)? Budget friendly (willing to spend $200 more or less). Thanks! Robert |

Eshopps skimmers are also quite nice. Either the S-120 or X-120 (Mentioned above) will fit just fine in that sump.
