Mushroom propagation on budget

Hello,

Been lurking around for years in RC reading all the informative threads and learning all the way!

I am from Singapore (Asia) and for some reason, we do not see a lot of mushrooms in our LFS.

I got together with a friend and managed to rent a small warehouse (800 sqft) to try our hands at coral (mushroom) propagation to increase the availability of mushrooms in the trade and hopefully increase the interest in these colorful critters!

Here's how the warehouse used to look like.....

After working on it for 2 months and a lot of friends came by to help! .. The tanks are old ones though, free from the landlord

The tanks are 4 x 1.5 x 1' (shallow) and are predrilled at the corner. What you are seeing is the front and there is another 'wall' of tanks just behind them.

We also got our hands on some 4 x 2 x 2' white fiberglass tanks (FGT).

Here's what we intend to do and we would like to hear from you guys before we continue with our long journey..

Option 1 : Plumb 6 of the glass tanks together (3 front, 3 back) into a central sump below with one split return to the top 2 tanks.
The sump will be 4 x 4 x 1.5' which will give us a lot of water volume.

Option 2 : Use the white FGTs as individual propagation tanks. We could plumb 2 of these to a sump.

We are lucky to get access to filtered seawater and can thus do water changes frequently. This could save us some money on buying sumps.

Filtration will be via dead rock seeded with live rock from our home tanks.
Algae turf scrubbers can be built if additional filtration is required.

We are still considering DIY LEDs or T5s for lighting so any input in this area will help too!

Thanks for reading!

Looks like you're off to a good start. Why not use the white tubs as sumps?
