Good choice chaps .. I have this and it's a stunner. Bought it as a brown frag on a chance as it had nice form then it started colouring up and is a real winner :thumbs up:

Thanks. Note in last picture, the one behind ( totally brown ) were placed in tank same day and will try to bring higher, hope for same color improvement.

I still have many coral colonies stay "ok" color. I am debating between give them away to create space for new, more potential coral, or... patience for their color improvement.

Hard to decide......

I also bought it with the price a brown coral should be, US$30. Nothing better when a coral turn to 100 bucks coral.

Wait.... I never sell any coral or used aquarium equipment, what I am exciting for

Thank you for the mixer and nanoscope. Went to my mums yesterday and picked them up. The mixer I used to use in my university labs...always wanted one.

My wife said next time you are in UK you must come round; she will cook nice meal for you.

Wow! Just used the mixer whilst carrying out Alk test and its so cool! Your friend used 3D printing to make the plastic shell/case? That's is very cool.

Can't wait to visit London again. Next time, I will pick a hotel close to your place, not Slough anymore ;-(.....

Yes, it was made by 3D printer. He (Dr. Bridge) made a lot of good stuff to fulfill my need. What a friend ;-)

Recently, I decided to move some colorless colonies to places not easy to see or on sand base, and their old spots replaced by some three weeks old new coral… See below

Do you mean the one on sand bed?

Yes, it is a long tentacled plate. I added LPS as an indicator of high alkalinity. They seems show less tentacle or short tentacle when water parameter changes (well, it least it is easier to be observed).

I need go back to see you or Biggle's thread to understand what happen there... Hahaha... You two are great to enrich SPS forum here. cheers...

BTW...
Two observations quite bother me and any suggestion are welcome, please.

I use Zeovit system almost exactly same as my last tank, expect I replaced my HQI + T5 (400 w x2 + 54w x 8), to ATI T5 + LED hybrid (54w x 8 + 75 w x 3) as some background you may want to know first.

1. Caroline algae develop much slower than my last tank. My CA reading is 400+ ppm, Mg is 1400+, and Alkalinity is ~7.5 dkH, I add Iron regularly. Maybe I should just have patience? I do see it develop on overflow wall and some rock surface.

2. Zeovit sand base (2 cm) very easy to get brown and become rock hard in some place. I regularly scrape top 0.5 cm out, wash it, then put it back, plus I siaphen sand during weekly water change. I do feed fish more than before since NO3 and PO4 are both undetectable. My last tank used smaller sand so cleaner crew work well, but due to the size of Zeovit sand (I think it is size 3~5), seems only starfish and large Holothuria leucospilota work ;-(

With 1: I also had much better coralline algae spread in my last setup...back then I still had T5/LED hybrid. My current setup is now well over 7 months and coralline algae is very slow. I am not sure what the different is...

With 2: I've always used 0.5-3mm sand size. If your sand is becoming solid that might suggest high pH/Ca/Alk/ or due to bacterial activity.

My corals are not as colourful as corals in Biggles tank. And my corals seem to have lost some colour since I returned from holiday.

Hmmm... With 1, Does temperature matter? My current tank is about 1 degree Celsius lower than old tank. Well, I really don't know.

With 2, I am dosing Coral Snow + Cyano Cleaner now. Will update result later.

Have you fixed your computer yet? Hopefully, when your computer fix, coral color come back. Cheers,

Peter's No.3 of "12 things to keep in mind" (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2511918) made me think again of my tank, and since a typhoon weekend has nothing else to do.... so I decide to rearrange my tank displace, gave away some coral I wait too long to them pop-up color, add two new coral colonies that I trade from LFS...

FTS

Free stuff come with wild coral
