GXPKY's 250 Double D
Preparing to set up a 150 gallon Marineland 36x36x27 Cube.
I purchased the tank months ago but due to remodeling of our home due to water damage it got put on hold. We had to totally gut and replace our kitchen subfloor and all as well as a portion of our living room. Fast forward to now. Subfloor is reinforced as the display will be sitting on a crawlspace. Most of the equipment has been purchased already. Only holdup is going to be building the equipment room, an 8x8 insulated room in my garage. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

I love their deep dimension tanks. Honestly I am not sure if two of those lights will do. You need 6 for the 300 and spread is not great with such a shallow hood. I would think 3 on an angle (one opposite the overflow and two across the center corner to corner) might be good. This is just an opinion so if anyone has this set um and can enlighten me please do. I'm not trying to steer anyone wrong.

Last night picked up the block and mortar to start on the equipment room build! Don't think my anorexic truck tires could have handled much more lol.

Im running them at 60% max at peak. I have clams, sps, lps, gig and mag anemone. All seems to do well but definitely darker towards the back. 4 i think may be too much. Radions are awesome for my diy canopy. I cut 2 holes on top and the fan draws the air from in the canopy and expelled into the room. I think to get rid of the shadows you can add 2 24" retrofit t5s.. Althogh without it you may be okay. |

Was planning an 8x8 ft room but we ended up going 12x8...more room for more water so figured we would go overkill on the supports

Where did you find the 150 cube? I have been keeping an eye out for one, I've only seen the 93's... If you don't mind me asking, how much did the 150 set you back?

Finished out the sills....hopefully it will stop raining tomorrow so I can get the floor joists finished. Floor has a slight drop being that it's a poured garage floor with a drain so I will have to shave the 2x8s at an angle to level it out.
