Bubble blaster hy2000
Anyone with an apex 2016 running this pump on their skimmer that can tell me how many amps its pulling?
I think this pump has started to generate heat in my system, so i want to compare it to other users numbers. Thx Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk

I swapped out my return pump, same tmp
I turned off a circulation pump, same tmp I turned off my skimmer, temp dropped... Through process of elimination, i found what i believe is the source. So the manufacturer specs really dont matter if the pump is now drawing more power then it did when new. Id just like to know what others are seeing amperage wise to confirm. Ifs don't cut it, if you have over 100g water volume its not the skimmer pump.
Those pumps do not heat up, nor can they draw more then stated. Even if at 35W it is for the most part, not heat energy, as the rotating mass is using the power, not a heating element. Use an killawatt meter, and find out for sure. I have the similar aquatrance probably made by same company, used on similar models and they are always cool to the touch Put your hand in tank and feel the pump, it would have to feel warm to be actually warming the water. |
