So it sounds like he is not happy where he is. Turn down the flow and help it get to somewhere the sand and rock meet might help. Someone else with more experience of this nem might help.

What kind of sebae?
Have you checked foot for tears?
Where are you placing it, sand or rock?

Well Malu will want a decent sand bed to burrow into, maybe sometimes close to rock, but not on rock, medium flow and light

I've had them set right away before, and I've had a couple times it may have taken a couple hours to see it setting on it's own, so it varies some.
I always try to bury them some and have a couple rocks near to kind of block flow.
If conditions are right and it's healthy and foot is free of damage it should not take too long

I made a little horse shoe shape out of some rocks and dug a deep spot in the sand bed. Kept my Power head off four a couple days...and the sebae seemed happy and didn't move for a few days. I fed it a couple times too and put my PH back on. Last night it moved to the other side of the tank and it seemed to plant itself firmly in the sand...

usually I don't feed them for first couple weeks at least to let them really settle, while it did not stay where you may have placed, at least it's set, so cool.
Post pics when you can
