Poll: Have you ever been affected by zoa toxins?

I don't know if this has been done before or not, but I have some zoas now and so have been reading about their toxins. I think it would be cool to get a feel for how common zoa poisoning is. Thus, this poll is born.

I first had a reaction when I started, it wasn't "pretty bad" but I did get a bunch of red bumps on my arm after adding my first zoas. Itched a bit but went away after a few days.

I've never been affected, and I handle/frag zoanthids with my bare hands all the time.

like Cloak i handle them bare handed all the time and i have never been affected... but when i frag them i make sure to wear gloves just incase... heard that some nasty stuff

yes. Just search forum from my experiences , " ALWAYS use your Protective Personal Equipment", it only takes one time.

I just ordered some shoulder-high gloves. I thought the stinging sensation was the salt -facepalm-

Wear safety glasses while fragging, too! Quite a few corals squirt goo (intentionally or not) when sliced, and the last place you want that is in your eye.

They have never bothered me before but when my wife helped me glue a bunch of frags to plugs her hand got really swollen and turned red.

I think some people are partially immune to toxins like that. There's an employee at a LFS near us who can pick up anemones by hand without the stings affecting him in the slightest.

I had zoas slime on my finger and accidentally rubbed my eye it was bad, went pretty blind in it for like 3 days and stayed irritated for like 5 more, it was not fun I was so nervous I was gonna go blind. Lesson learned

Doesnt bother me unless I forget to wash my hands before going to the restroom after making zoa frags. Sensitive skin burns...

I just wish that I wouldn't get so many questions about the colorful "plant life" and if we're getting a Nemo (we're not ever).
