Toxic Green Hair Alage
I have been battling a Green Hair Alage problem for over a year. I believe I have isolated the issue down to rocks which I added from another reefer which I believe were high in phosphate. As my levels are always nitrate 0 phosphate .008 elos pro kit.
The issue I am having is that anything I add to the tank to eat the green hair alage ends up mysteriously dieing. I’ve tried all different types of snails but any that eat GHA will die in a week or two while my nasserius or conchs will last months. Same with fish I had 2 foxfaces which I added that ate GHA but both died in the first week. While my current foxface has never touched GHA and has been going strong for 6 months. Same story with tangs lost a convict tang and salfin back to back which were both eating GHA. Coincidence or is there any strains of GHA which are toxic? |
