Glove polyp

Not sure if this is the right category or not for a glove polyp.

Anyway, we have had ours for a couple weeks and it has looked great, but recently, over the last two days, i’ve Noticed some tendrils that do not seem to have the hand on the end and seem longer than the others. I took a picture when it was closed up at night since these longer ones are easier to see that way. Is something eating the hands? Is a different creature growing inside my coral? I am very worried. All our water parameters seem fine and I had the LFS verify my readings.

Thanks,

Jane

Never mind. My LFS says they are sponges. I am cutting back on feeding the fish and might manually pull them out. They are sort of ugly.

While those non-headed tubes may be a sponge the polyps there are not..
And yes glove polyps or similar..

Yes, it is a glove but those sponges are new. It didn’t have them when I got it or at least they were very small. LFS said I am most likely feeding my fish too much which made the sponges grow. I might try pulling them out because they are ugly.

Sponges are good for your tank ugly or not, I would leave them be.
