Bubbles on sand bed
I have some cyano on my sand bed, and noticed that bubbles have been forming all around the cyano. They sometimes get released and rise to the surface, or the just sit under the cyano and form a big green bubble looking thing. Why are there bubbles? Thanks

Gases are being trapped in the algae.

No, gases will form and be released out of substrate naturally as bacteria convert ammonia to nitrogen which will form as a gas under the sand etc.
There is no not having gases form. |

more circulation in the tank to prevent any type of alge growth on the sand. that is from my experience.
i use to have a lot of green alge everywhere, but i added a power head and started the clean up. i would scoup (sp) pieces of alge out and becareful not to let it break apart and move around in the tank, it can only speard the alge if so. people say to do more water changes, but i have yet to do it. will get to it soon. |
