Im going to stop updating my nano thread and post a few pictures of what I'll be adding to the tank in a month or so. Im going to throw about 15 lbs of live rock rubble that is filled with sponges into my new tank so hopefully my sps wont be to shocked.

Got the Apex all set up today. Everything was pretty straight forward other than getting my IP cam set up on it. It's so cool that you can see your tank live from any web browser. I wanted to make sure I got the camera working since I'll be going on vacation later this year.

I got some macro algae for the refugium. There are no detectable phosphates or nitrates right now so I'll have to hurry up and start adding more fish!

My quarantine tank is finally ready to go just in time. Ammonia and nitrates are at 0, and Im picking up a flame angel tomorrow from reef raft. I've heard angels are pretty sensitive to copper so Im going to treat him with prazipro.

This skimmer is awesome so far for the money. This is about 5 days worth of skimmate with just the Chevron tang.

Nice looks like it's pulling the gunk out nicely. Hows the tang going?

Dang Taylor looks nice man.. For some reason I missed all the updates on this thread and I Def missed out lol.
The setup looks amazing man great attention to detail and I forsee this thing being great in the future.. Your doing everything right by my book by not rushing into it keep up the great work. Look forward to swapping some acros with you down the line.

Nice build so far! I have the same tank just waiting on my metal stand. Had a couple questions on your plumbing. It's the one thing I hate doing when starting a new build.
What type of setup do you have the overflow, herbie, gurgle etc....which holes did you use for the two external and which did you use for the returns? The pipe third from the right, what is the purpose of that, I saw in the thread you split the return. Is the split going to two of the drilled holes or through one hole then tee'd off at the top of the overflow to make two? I'm assuming you used all 1" piping? Thanks! |

You have to port forward the camera from the router. From there you basically add the IP of the camera to apex fusion. I can show you the code if you want it. |

I went with the beananimal overflow, there's a huge thread here somewhere. I used the 3 right holes for the overflow. The third pipe is the emergency drain for if the other 2 drains got plugged up somehow. I only used the hole for the return, its not split, just coming out the right side. I didn't want a ton of turnover through my sump. All of the pvc is 1". |

How do you like the bean animal so far,any problems or noise coming from it? I was thinking either beananimal or the herbie. I don't want a lot of flow either in my sump, figure I'd make up for it with a couple jebao rw-15's. Is the flow to your liking in the sump.
Ill link you for sure to the thread when it gets up. |

Loving it so far. It's dead silent. My only gripe was that it was a little tight on space but I managed to make it work.
I have the rw-15s and they are insanely powerful. I haven't ramped them up past the lowest setting and probably won't need too. They sell power supplies separately though that are lower voltage which bring down the power a bit. |

Starboard
What's the starboard for? Are you planning on putting a substrate in or is the starboard the substrate? I've just getting my tank set up after a long absence and have never seen it before.
Love the tank. Make's me wish I had gotten a different design than the one I have. Thanks. |
