running a mag 18 external

Anyone running a mag 18 external?

Thinking of using a different sump and its drilled for a external sump and I either am going to use my mag 18, or a blue line 40x.

The mag 18 will give me more return (not by much with head loss but the blue line is a pressure rated pump at 1250 gph

Its going to be a around 5 ft of head from the sump to the return which is split on a 180.

I am getting my flow in the tank from my powerheads so Im not concerned about the "flow" from the return.

Whats your thoughts and opinions

Blue line. Mags aren't really external and will leak

I'm not sure, but I think the mag line of pumps "can" be used externally, but I would be too worried about it leaking as well.

I ran one external for a few years. Not ideal but it works.
