Pinched Mantle?

Just picked up this guy today and was wondering if this looked ok. Towards the bottom left the mantle looks pinched a bit and it hasn’t opened in my tank fully. The last pic was in the store. The part I’m concerned with is the right side on that pic.

I wouldn't worry about it right now. if you just got him, he has to get used to your tank first. I got my maxima a few months ago and after getting him in my tank, he started gaping really big. the next day he was fine.
so give him a few days before you start to worry.
he looks good too!

he is not fully extended but not c/w PMD. Keep a constant condition for him and hope that he will improve.

I agree. Looks pretty nice and tight with new shell growth.
Put something under it so it can attach then move it up on the rocks with that rock or cradle after acclimation.
Depending how small this clam is, I’d add some form of phytoplankton to the water. I still supplement my 6” maxima with phyto even though it’s not necessary.
Good luck with it.
They can be temperamental. Don’t lose sleep over it.

Thanks everyone. It is doing better. I moved him a bit and he went almost fully into his shell so I discovered there is another set of scutes above these ones so the mantle is actually resting on the upper, shorter scutes. There is the one section that always appears creased which is what was concerning me.
