Q about food for the Pacific Barrier Reef exhibit

First, I enjoyed the article. I also hope to see the Georgia Aquarium first-hand during MACNA.

In the article, you mention the foods you offer to the fish of the exhibit, including bloodworms, romaine, bokchoy and broccoli.

Some people have said that these types foods are inappropriate for marine animals. To me, these foods offer nutritional variety to the diets of the fish when offered with other marine-based foods.

Can you explain your reasoning behind feeding these foods?

Thanks.

I would post this to Kim's thread - this is her exhibit - she is the expert regarding the food.

Glad you liked the article!

In not sure if lettuce such a romain are good. I know cabbage serve no nutrients to human consume, but romaine provide high nutrients for us human. I'm don't really know if romaine are good for herbivores, I see some people feed them, including at the California Acedemy of Science at the Stern. Aquarium. I believe I saw them feeding to the tank, but I'm not 100% sure. I wouldn't feed them to my fish though, I would feed nori and Ocean Nutrient "Formula Two."

Can herbivore really eat lettuce?
