Emergency Drain Necessary with Xaqua INOUT?

As the title states, do you think an emergency drain would be necessary with the Xaqua INOUT overflow? Anyone have any close calls with this overflow?

I guess it depends on how big your return pump is, if you have a DC pump there should not be a problem they have a slow ramp up after a re-start. I have the overflow, it uses a large drain line.

I’ve got one on my 25 gallon with a Tunze silence 1073 rated around 600 hour. Haven’t had any issues, so far. Really like it for size and pretty quiet. Good luck.

Non dc and run fully open with about 3’ below the return. It’s probably same as the Eheim hobby pump that is recommended. I’ve had it running over 6 months and all seem well. Sorry for the late response! Hope you got it all worked out.
